Architect & interior designer in Shropshire
Shropshire is where most of my practice’s residential work has happened, and the county rewards the approach I built it on. Shrewsbury’s river loop holds timber frames, Georgian townhouses and Victorian villas in Belle Vue and Kingsland; Ludlow, Much Wenlock and Bishop’s Castle carry some of the densest listed stock in England; and the farmland between them is scattered with farmhouses that have grown by accident across two centuries.

What the work usually involves
The commonest Shropshire brief is not an extension but an edit: deciding which of a building’s accumulated additions carry the future, then letting one plan run through all of it. It is also where my own award-winning whole-home project sits.
Every engagement begins with a free phone conversation, after which I recommend the right next step — often a £595 Home Transformation Consultation at the house, or the £1,950 Concept & Feasibility stage where a substantial project needs options and honest numbers before commitment.
Planning
Shropshire Council is the planning authority throughout, with conservation areas in every historic town and the Shropshire Hills designation shaping external change in the south of the county.
