the process
The 6 steps we follow together to create your perfect living space...
01 Stage 1:
Feasibility meeting A free hours meeting to discuss your project and consider the feasibility from a buildability and financial stance. The brief is built during this meeting - see it as a mission statement for your project.
02 Stage 2:
Preparation and Concept design Once the brief, Scope of Work and Fee Proposal is agreed we complete a measured survey of the existing building. These drawings form the basis of the proposal drawings. Plans are produced of the varying options that satisfy the Brief with different implications on the spaces created and budget required.
03 Stage 3:
Detailed Design The options are discussed and your preferred scheme is pulled together. Elevations and a 3D model are created to look at the proposal as a complete building. CGI images are produced to clearly demonstrate the look and feel of the proposals in context
04 Stage 4:
Ball-park Estimates and Statutory approvals Once the scheme is agreed the drawings are sent to your preferred builder for a ball-park estimate. This is checked against the budget and if all is in-line the Planning Application can be submitted. On successful approval the drawings are then sent to a Structural engineer and then on to conversion to Building Regulations drawings, ready for sign-off and submission to the builder to create a detailed quote and begin the construction process.
05 Stage 5:
Construction Once all approvals are in place the pre-construction meeting can take place. A:V offers a Construction support service to guide you through the build, acting as your go-between with the builder and advisor as and when decisions occur on site.
06 Stage 6:
Completion and photographs Always a joyous event! Celebrated with a photoshoot at A:V's expense and a well deserved glass of fizz!
