Architecture & interiors in Alderley Edge
Alderley Edge carries some of the North West’s most valuable housing, from Victorian merchant villas under the Edge to substantial modern houses on private roads. I work with owners here who want judgement, not just drawings.
The houses of Alderley Edge
The village grew when the railway let Manchester’s wealth build country villas: gothic and Italianate houses on Macclesfield Road and the Edge’s wooded slopes, later joined by twentieth-century and contemporary rebuilds. Plots are generous, values are high, and the temptation to solve everything with more square footage is strong — and often wrong.
A design note for Alderley Edge
At Alderley values, a mis-planned extension is an expensive way to move a problem sideways. The better question is what the existing volume can do: these villas hold magnificent rooms hostage to poor circulation, and releasing them is where the value lives.
How I can help here
Whole-house thinking first, always: architecture, interior design and architecture & interior design combined as one appointment, with a free first conversation and a £595 consultation as the intelligent first steps and buyers advice before you commit to a purchase. I work with homeowners in Alderley Edge and the surrounding villages — there is no shopfront to visit; I come to the house, which is where the answers are.

Everyone here extends. Why wouldn’t we?
Extend when the whole-house plan says so — you may need better space, not more. The feasibility stage prices both answers before you commit to either.
Can you handle interiors to the standard this market expects?
Yes — architecture and interiors are one appointment here, and my portfolio’s kitchens and joinery show the standard.
