Architecture & interiors in Chester

Chester anchors my Cheshire work — and the city already contains it: I designed retail environments here for Clogau, the Welsh gold jeweller, as part of the brand’s store-estate programme. For homeowners, I serve the city’s Georgian and Victorian quarters and the villages south into the Cheshire countryside.

The houses of Chester

Beyond the Rows and the walls, Chester’s residential wealth sits in Georgian terraces around Abbey Square and King Street, substantial Victorian and Edwardian villas in Curzon Park and Queen’s Park, and period houses through Handbridge toward the Duke of Westminster’s estate villages. Conservation areas are extensive; plans are generous but often chopped by a century of alteration.

A design note for Chester

Curzon Park and Queen’s Park villas typically hold three reception rooms nobody uses and one kitchen everybody crowds. Rebalancing that equation — inside the existing envelope where possible — is the classic Chester project.

How I can help here

Whole-house thinking first, always: architecture, interior design and architecture & interior design combined as one appointment, with a free first conversation and a £595 consultation as the intelligent first steps and buyers advice before you commit to a purchase. I work with homeowners in Chester and the surrounding villages — there is no shopfront to visit; I come to the house, which is where the answers are.

Questions from Chester owners
Have you actually worked in Chester?

Yes — commercially, for Clogau, designing customer-journey-led store environments. Residential enquiries across the city and its villages are welcome.

Our house is in a conservation area. How does that change things?

It rewards early judgement: knowing what officers will support shapes the scheme before money is spent drawing the wrong one.
