About

Oakleigh house is a stunning family home in a conservation area of Bellevue in Shrewsbury. ARCHITECTURE:Ventures was brought in originally to extend the property and to create a new en-suite master bedroom over the existing dining area. The brief evolved after discussions with the Client allowing us to remodel the ground floor of the house to let the spaces flow more naturally.

The design resulted in the glass lean-to dinning area being removed and replaced with a two storey structure. The kitchen was relocated in this space on the ground floor whilst the first floor was a library link corridor that joined the coach house bedroom to the main house.

The brief was answered without the need to build a new bedroom and whilst providing a new stunning kitchen with garden views. The project resulted in a £200K Return on Investment when the property was recently listed for sale.

“Thanks for playing such a crucial and transformative part in the build of our extension. You definitely helped us realise the best solution for our space and budget, challenging our decisions at the right time and understanding the values we wanted to get out of the new space. It was a great nine months and we hugely valued your continual support through the build to deliver the build as per the original vision. Couldn’t be happier with the result” David Bishop
