About

Mount Pleasant is a stunning 5 bed rural family home. It began life as a derelict 4 bed house in desperate need of TLC. As the co-owner and Architect in charge of this total transformation project it was an absolute pleasure to bring it back to life. The brief was to bring in as much natural light as possible, deep into the plan. Also to make the most of the stunning views to the rear of the house over the Shropshire hills. The design had to be child centric and create a house that was comfortable to live in, appropriate for family life with 4 young children and all done with Architectural flair.

The huge, deep framed windows bring light and life ( and somewhere to sit and read) into the bedrooms whilst the double height space in the kitchen brings relief from the low, cottage scale ceilings. The double picture window into the landing creates a much loved library area and floods the house with light all day.

The ‘safe’ style of the front of the house settles well into the street frontage of the Myddlewood hamlet whilst the unexpected Architectural impact of the rear of the house brings joy and excitement.
