Riva house was a substantial 3 bed rural detached house in beautiful Market Drayton but the rear of the house had no connection to the garden or beautiful views beyond. The utility room landlocked the kitchen and made the centre of the house dark.
We opened the rear of the house to the garden and created a large open plan kitchen that is now flooded with natural light. A perfect setting for the artist studio island that sits centrally under a huge glazed lantern.
My Client is a very talented artist and the extension allows her to indulge her skills and places her art studio at the absolute centre of her home.
The build also created a large doulble en-suite bedroom with garden views, where once there was a small box bedroom. We designed steel stantions to support the unimposing first floor extension and encased them to look like a traditional timber frame and glass extension. This extension has dramatically changed the feel of the house, it has become a beautiful forever home for my client to enjoy.
