Alverly Close was a typical 3 bed, dated bungalow in a housing estate of similar properties. It had no special features or design flair but was the perfect blank canvas to transform into a life-time home, full of natural light, high ceilings and broken plan layout.
The bungalow has been completely transformed into a modern home for the active couple. The attached garage was partially demolished and remodelled to become a ‘cycle-in’ workshop for their many bikes, with shower room and dressing area straight off the back of the kitchen.
Their lifestyle really drove the brief and floor plan. The triple peak roof at the rear of the house allowed a huge influx of natural light into their home and removing most of the ceilings meant that they achieved very high ceiling heights for such a low building. This really was a completely transformative project.
